HISTORY & BIOGRAPHY
I came onto L.A.'s music scene as lead
and rhythm guitarist for the late Maestro of Love, Barry White. At the time
he wa touring both the U.S. and abroad with his hot new CD release "The
Icon Is Love", and celebrating his huge hit single "Practice What
You Preach" and his previous hit with El DeBarge entitled "Secret
Garden".
During my eight years with this double grammy winning artist and his Love
Unlimited Orchestra i became a seasoned veteran touring live and doing television
and radio spots for shows like Ally McBeal, Arby's commercials, and many others.
I think perhaps a highlight for me was a live broadcast across Europe in 2002
when we performed with Luciano Pavarotti. That was definately a special moment.
One of many i got to experience with Barry.
While I continued to work with Mr. White, I also found other opportunities
to work with some of the hottest platinum, double platinum, and grammy winning
artists and producers in pop and urban music, such as Jon B, Mya, Montel Jordan,
and Tevin Campbell, just to name a few.
Then I discovered smooth jazz. I was fortunate to play with artists such as
Rick Braun, Jeff Golub, and Warren Hill.
Since 2002 I've been lucky enough to share the stage with Gerald Albright,
who's not only an incredible saxaphonist but also a great guy with a beautiful
family.
In 2004, after being in the house band for the show American Idol, I decided
to try my hand in the studio as an artist. I'm now in the process of working
on my own project and can only hope that some of the great talent I've worked
with over the years has rubbed off on me.
In 1995 I co-wrote the first single released on the then new J-Town (Malaco)
label. The CD went to #35 on Billboards' R&B chart. Since then I've written
and produced with artists such as Jon B and Dr. Smith.
My work also extends to musical theatre with plays directed by the great Jerry
Jones and Sol Survivor.
From House of Blues clubs nationwide to stadiums around the world - Essence
Festivals to Summer Jams - Lillith fairs to Cool Downs - and jazz festivals
far and wide. I've loved it all!
I can truly say.....I've been truly blessed!!!
